Milwaukee County Zoo. Home to more than 1,700 animals and over 350 different species of mammals, birds, fish, amphibians, and reptiles the Milwaukee County Zoo is an animal enthusiast’s paradise. Betty Brinn Children’s Museum. Named for Betty Brinn, a Milwaukee businesswoman who dedicated much of her life to helping underprivileged children, the museum, which opened in 1995, features exhibits and educational resources aimed at promoting the healthy development of children in their formative years.
